How to cut sugar and calories from your Pumpkin Spice Latte order

Fall cool weather has arrived, and we’ve all got pumpkin spice on the brain. But before you head to Starbucks to wrap your hands around a warm cup of pumpkin spiced goodness, wrap your brain around the fact that each standard Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte has the sugar equivalent to 3.5 giant Starbucks sugar cookies. Yikes! At that rate, you’ll be packing on the holiday pounds before we even enter October. Plus, all that sugar can leave you feeling sluggish and cranky. So what’s a PSL fanatic to do? Each Grande PSL has four pumps of pumpkin spice syrup. At 7.5 grams of sugar per pump, it’s easy to cut back while still keeping the delicious pumpkin flavor. Order half the amount of syrup (2 pumps) and save 15 grams of sugar. Of course sugar isn’t the only problem. A Grande PSL will add a whopping 380 calories to your day.…

Starbucks to release its Pumpkin Spice Latte the earliest date ever

You’ll still be wearing summer shorts when you show up, but beginning August 28 you’ll be able to sip Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks. A spokesperson for the coffee chain confirmed that the favorite fall drink will return the Tuesday before Labor Day, making it the earliest launch date the latte has ever seen. The 2018 fall season will be the first time the drink has debuted in the month of August. According to Business Insider, Starbucks also plans to also bring back the Salted Caramel Mocha and the Teavana Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte, which was introduced last year on August 28, days ahead of the PSL. Other beverages will debut throughout the season. This year will mark the 15th straight year Starbucks has served the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte. For many, the warm, rich coffee beverage is the first official marker of the season, and something looked forward…

Pumpkin Spice White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sometimes store bought cookies look so good that you can’t pass them up. I bought a dozen pumpkin spice white chocolate chip cookies the other day. They were so tempting, I had to have one in the car before I even made it home. But that’s where the excitement ended. The cookies barely had any spice flavoring to them, and they were greasy on the bottom. Not even milk could make it right. So, I set out to make a better version on my own. Try this recipe if you like your pumpkin spice cookies to have tons of cinnamon and clove flavor along side the smooth white chocolate, and just say “no” to bad store bought pumpkin spice cookies. Pumpkin Spice White Chocolate Chip Cookies Makes about 3 dozen small cookies, or 18 large cookies Ingredients 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1 cup canned pumpkin 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips 1…

Here’s the Most Hated Food in Each State

Having similar dislikes is just as important as having similar likes for some people. But that’s the idea behind date app Hater. The app was launched earlier this year and promises to match users based on their mutual disdain for anything from fashion stylers to celebrities and even certain foods — wouldn’t it settle so many pizza delivery problems if you and your partner both hated Hawaiian pizza? Well, the people behind Hater compiled information from more than 600,000 users to show us a profile of what foods are most commonly hated state-by-state. Some findings aren’t surprising. Washington, the coffee capital of the country, hates Keurig K-cups, while Texans who pride themselves in the meat market, can’t stand their steak cooked well done. And Vermont, the New England King of Cheese, wants nothing to do with that artificial spray cheese from a can. But some of them are hard to rationalize. How…

Pumpkin Spice Latte sauce now at Starbucks

Much of the United States is still experiencing sweltering temperatures, but that isn’t stopping Starbucks from preparing for the fall onslaught of Pumpkin Spice Latte orders that are right around the corner. According to several posts from Starbucks employees on Reddit’s r/Starbucks board, the coffee giant has started to send shipments of the sauce used in making the iconic fall beverage to stores around the country. On Friday, one user posted a giant jug of the pumpkin flavored sauce and captioned it, “It’s coming. God help us all.” Others questioned how it can be PSL time already when Halloween is still weeks away. But not all coffee drinkers feel the same. The Pumpkin Spice Latte has a die-hard fan-base who wish away the weeks of summer, so they can pull out their sweaters and head to the nearest Starbucks for an whipped-cream topped pumpkin dream. While you may be getting excited for your favorite fall tradition,…
