Thursday, Oct. 4 is National Taco Day — does any of the other dozens of food holidays even matter anymore? This holiday means that many restaurants will be giving away free or discounted deals on the most delicious of all take-out — tacos! Grab your go-to hot sauce and head to one of these places offering freebies and other deals on this most sacred of holidays. And check your local taqueria, too! Many mom and pop shops will also be offering deals throughout the day.

1. Del Taco

Access a coupon on Del Taco’s website and score a “buy one, get one free” deal on their Shredded Beef Soft Tacos.

2. Taco Bell

Taco Bell is asking people to gift somebody this food holiday with the “magical gift of tacos.” On October 4, you can get a “special gift set” of tacos for just $5. The “set” includes their Crunchy Taco, Fiery, Cool Ranch, and Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos.

3. Chronic Tacos

Stop by participating locations on October 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a free taco. It’s no cost to you, but you have to keep an eye out for the secret code word the taqueria will announce on social media on October 3. Basically, they want you to follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. So stay on the lookout! The taco chain has more than 50 locations across 10 states.

4. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

Purchase tacos at Fuzzy’s all day long for just $1 each. You can also receive “free” chips and queso when you make a $2 donation to No Kid Hungry.

5. On the Border

Get unlimited tacos for $8.99. Mix and match, seasoned ground beef or Chicken Tinga tacos, soft or crunchy.

6. Baja Fresh

So it’s not specific to National Taco Day, but if you’re craving Baja, and you want it free, you can sign up for the Baja Fresh email list and receive a free taco with any purchase.

7. Green Leaf’s

Not a typical taco shop, but Green Leaf’s is getting in on the fun. Sign up for their email list, and receive a coupon for a free Baja Street Taco.
