Nuts! Why did Mr. Peanut have to die? Planters released its shell-shocking Super Bowl commercial ahead of the upcoming game and which shows the demise of everyone’s favorite monocled mascot. In the ad, it appears Mr. Peanut is driving the famous Nutmobile down a rough road with Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh, when they swerve to avoid an armadillo crossing the road. He loses control of the Nutmobile and it goes flying off the edge of the cliff leaving the three men hanging from a branch for dear life. The branch starts to crack under their weight, when Mr. Peanut makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his buddies. Mr. Peanut, died at the age of 104.ย He was a legend among legumes.
