McDonald’s still America’s favorite fast food restaurants, survey says

McDonald’s fans are still lovin’ it. In a recent survey for more than 2,000 adults, McDonald’s came out as the clear favorite fast food restaurant thanks to several categories including value and speed of service. Wendy’s claimed second place, Burger King followed in third place. Subway and KFC rounded out the top five. According to Yahoo! Finance, the survey, conducted by UBS Evidence Lab surveyed 2,029 adults who visited fast-casual restaurants at least once a month. McDonald’s beat its competitors in a number of categories, but when it comes to fast-food, it seems price matters most. Interestingly, diners also cited those two categories as the only  reasons that would make them visit McDonald’s restaurants more often. After good values and promotions, the top reasons respondents cited for preferring one fast food restaurant…

There’s a good reason potato chip bags are always half empty

If there is one thing that can upset junk food aficionados, it’s a potato chip bag half filled with air. No matter what brand you buy, once you tear into the bag, you almost always find it already halfway empty before you’ve even chomped on a single single. While it can be disappointing, there is actually a good reason for all of this seemingly wasted space. Protecting those potato chips No, chip companies aren’t trying to pull a fast one on you. In the industry, the empty space is intentionally built into the packaging to help protect the product. It’s known as “slack fill,” and it serves to diminish damage to your Doritos on its journey from production to transportation to the grocery store. Even a small drop in a vending machine could deliver a serious smash job to your chips if that space wasn’t there. It’s not actually air…

It’s called “fast food” because it’s meant to be made, assembled, packaged and in your hands in mere minutes. But not all drive-thru dining establishments can deliver on this promise. There is, however, one fast food chain that delivers your order in the blink of an eye. A QSR Magazine study found that when you really need your order in a hurry, Burger King is the way to go. 4 new M&M’s flavors on store shelves, including Orange Vanilla Cream

It’s hard to keep track of all the different flavor of M&M’s on store shelves, and it just got even more crowded with the release of four new varieties this spring. The newest addition is Vanilla Orange Cream … and it’s available exclusively at Dollar General. The white chocolate is flavored with orange and comes off eerily reminiscent of an orange creamsicle. Junk Male of junkbanter.com gave these a 10 out of 10 rating in a review: “Guys, I wasn’t prepared for this. Every argument I try to make such as “I would like these more if…”  or “These would be better with…” comes to a screeching halt when I realize there is nothing. There is nothing they could have done better, outside of choosing an entirely different flavor with more mass appeal than orange creamsicle. These SOARED past my expectations, and I suspect they will silence many skeptics.” Earlier this…
