This is America’s favorite cup of coffee, according to the Harris Poll

American runs on Dunkin’. But they sure do like Starbucks a lot, too. If they had to pick, which one would win out? The results from the latest Harris Poll are in, and America’s “Brand of the Year” award for the country’s favorite coffee shop go to Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme. Each year, the market research agency conducts a survey to help us uncover America’s favorite brands in categories ranging from favorite restaurants favorite audio streaming service, and everything in between. Krispy Kreme voted best coffee shop brand in new poll

Krispy Kreme might not even be on your radar during your daily coffee run, but maybe it should be. The fresh doughnut chain has been named 2018’s Brand of the Year for best coffee shop in the long-running Harris Poll’s 30th annual EquiTrend study, beating out other coffee competitors like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. Other food and drink categories were also included in the poll. Five Guys Burgers and Fries won for best burger restaurants. A tie took place between The Cheesecake Factory and Texas Roadhouse for best casual dining. Ben & Jerry’s received honors as top ice cream and fro-yo shop. And in a bit of a surprise, Taco Bell beat out Chipotle for best Mexican restaurants. The annual study includes more than 3,000 brands across 300 categories ranging from luxury automotive to TV networks. Apple and Pizza Top List of America’s Favorite Pies

Millions of people around the world indulged in pie last week to celebrate the mathematical concept of pi (the Greek symbol used to represent 3.14159). The Harris Poll also celebrated by asking Americans about their favorite pie. As usual, apple pie reigns supreme (12%), but pizza comes in a close second (10%) and is, by far, the favorite type of pie among men ages 18-34 (25%). The most popular pizza topping in America continues to be pepperoni. 7 in 10 say the pie filling — not the crust — is the best part. Pie vs. cake When it comes to dessert overall, Americans are nearly evenly split, with a slight preference for cake (52%) over pie (48%) – particularly in the South, where about 6 in 10 prefer cake (61% South), but not in the Midwest where 58% of adults prefer pie.
