Pixar’s upcoming new short film is about a dumpling

It’s been 14 years since The Incredibles first hit theaters, and the long-awaited sequel is finally about to premier this summer. As exciting as the release of a new Pixar film is, there’s another part of the Pixar moving-going experience that we look forward to just as much: the short film. The Incredibles 2 will run after new short film Bao, a seven-and-a-half-minute short film about an empty-nested Chinese-Canadian woman who gets a chance to be a mother again when one of her handmade dumplings comes to life. The heart-warming tale is also the first Pixar short film to be directed by a woman. Domee Shi, the only child to Chinese immigrants,  shared her inspiration for the story with Entertainment Weekly. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bg9DpX-l6D8/?utm_source=ig_embed “Often times it felt like mom would treat me like a precious little dumpling, wanting to make sure I was safe, that I didn’t go out late, all that stuff,” Shi…

Coffee art done Disney style

Coffee art has become a bit of a trend recently with artists everywhere showing off their stuff on frothy, foamy canvases. Baristas often go with the basic swan or simple swirl, but others are taking it over-the-top by dazzling us with fan favorite Disney cartoon characters. These lattes may have been designed with kids’ movies in mind, but they’re so fun, Disney-loving adults will definitely want to keep them all to themselves. From the Little Mermaid to Nemo, they’re so pretty you would hate to take that first sip and ruin it — but caffeines craving can only wait so long. Drink up! Disney’s Glowing Lavender Lemonade Looks Sweet for Summer

To commemorate Disney California Adventure’s new Guardians of the Galaxy ride, the park created a special menu for the Summer of Heroes celebration. The large $9 sourdough Baby Groot-shaped bread was the first epic item to take off. The character-inspired bread is baked fresh at Disney California Adventure’s Boudin Bakery, and using black olives for eyes and jalapeño cheddar for hair, looks just like the lovable on-screen character. But it’s the glowing Infinity-Ade drink that is popping up all over Instagram now. At $8, the lavender lemonade comes with a glow cube that you can save all use at home all summer. Reportedly, you can choose your own “stone” color. One fan wrote of the new non-alcoholic drink, “[It] is a lavender lemonade with a sugar/ lavender rim. You can choose your “infinity stone” aka the color setting of the glow cube,” and gave it a high recommendation. Another reviewer…

Special food items ARRRR available for 50th anniversary of Pirates Disneyland ride

The magical minds at Disneyland arrrr hard at work again. For the 50th anniversary of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Disney chefs have whipped up something special for us landlubbers — gold-dusted churros. The ride, which opened in 1967 in the New Orleans Square portion of Disneyland, inspired the movie franchise first released in 2003. It was the last attraction that Walt Disney himself participated in the design of before his death. The golden churros consist of the classic fried-dough pastry popular in Spain and Latin American and a heavy dusting of yellow sanding sugar. Key your eye (the one not covered by your Pirate patch, obviously) open for these other new items available in Disney’s New Orleans Square: Caribbean Breakfast Burritos: Scrambled eggs, Andouille sausage, rice, sweet potatoes, black beans and cheddar cheese Lost Treasure Beignets: Mickey-shaped lemon-flavored beignets dusted with gold shimmer Buccaneer Pulled Pork Sandwich: Jerk-spiced pork, sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, pineapple…
