The wedding between American actress Meghan Markle and England’s Prince Harry is drawing immense attention, and the culinary world has focused on the wedding cake.

And we finally got a peek a day ahead of the royal wedding.

Violet Bakery owner Claire Ptak has been working on the cake in the Buckingham Palace kitchen over the past five days.

According to the Instagram story from the royal family, the ingredients needed for the cakes include 500 organic eggs, 200 Amalfi Coast lemons, 10 bottles of elderflower cordial (with the elderflowers sourced from the queenโ€™s Sandringham estate) and 20 kilograms each of flour, sugar and butter.

The cake is expected to be three layers of lemon sponge drizzled with an elderflower syrup, held together with buttercream and lemon curd. The outside will have a white buttercream frosting made with elderflower meringue. And fresh flowers.
