As iconic as Bob Marley was in the world of music, he became even more of an inspiration for promoting peace and unity around the world — and next, apparently, ice cream.
Ben & Jerry announced a new flavor called “One Love” that pays homage to the legendary performer’s vision for the world. The new pints are filled with banana ice cream, caramel and cookie swirls and chocolatey peace signs. A portion of the proceeds from each pint will be donated to Jamaica’s One Love Youth Camp, an organization run by The Bob Marley Foundation and Partners for Youth Empowerment.
The ice cream company is no newcomer to promoting social causes. Other flavors with a cause include “Empower Mint” for democracy, “Phish Food” for clean waterways, and “One Sweet World” for more inclusive communities.
“One Love” was released last year in the U.K. and was successful enough to get the green light to head to the U.S. in time for summer 2017.
The new flavor hits stores and shops just in time for sunny days chilling on the beach — just like Marley would do. So “Let’s Get Together” and “Don’t Worry About a Thing,” because “One Love” is already on its way to stores.
