Restaurants love to honor veterans and active service members with free meals and other deals on Veterans Day each year. Here is your guide to where you can score free food on Monday, November 11, 2019.

Not seeing your favorite restaurant on this list? Not all restaurants that have participated in the past have released their 2019 information yet, but we’ll add more as they are announced. So check back often.

Also, remember that before you can get your food freebie, most restaurants require you show valid military identification or proof of service.


Applebee’s

Military members or veterans eat for free when they choose from one of these 8 entrées. Find your nearest location here. Must have proof of service or military ID.

California Pizza Kitchen

Veterans and military members can stop by participating California Pizza Kitchen restaurants on Monday, Nov. 11, and choose a pizza, salad, or pasta from a special Veterans Day menu. Bring proof of military service.

Chili’s

Military members and veterans eat for free from a select menu. Dine-in only. Call ahead to make sure your local Chili’s is participating. Find the nearest location.

Cracker Barrel

Enjoy a Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert or Pumpkin Pie Latte on the house at any of Cracker Barrel’s 660 locations this Veterans Day.

Dunkin’ Donuts

To show their support, Dunkin’ Donuts will be giving away free donuts to active duty military and veterans on Monday, Nov. 11. Limit one donut per customer. No purchase required, but military ID is required.

Pilot Flying J

Founded by a Korean War vet, Pilot Flying J has a deep appreciation for all who serve and is supporting military members two ways this Veterans Day. First, the chain of travel centers is treating all active duty and retired military to a free breakfast any day Nov. 8-11, including a free coffee and a choice of one free PJ Fresh breakfast sandwich, breakfast pizza, or breakfast grill item. (Download the Flying J app to redeem this offer.) Flying J is also donating $100,000 to the Call of Duty Endowment Fund to help veterans transition to successful careers after the military.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Friendly’s

Friendly’s is offering veterans and active military a free breakfast, lunch or dinner on Monday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only. Breakfast includes the Big-Two-Do which comes with your choice of Brioche French toast, two buttermilk pancakes or two slices of toast, two strips of bacon or two sausage links, and a side of two made-to-order eggs, along with a cup of coffee. Lunch or dinner includes he All-American Burger, fries and your choice of soda, iced tea, or hot beverage. Military ID or honorable discharge card required. Find a Friendly’s location. 

Golden Corral

Golden Corral will host its 19th annual Military Appreciation dinner on Nov. 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. Other family members and friends are welcome, but only service members eat for free. Find out more here.

IHOP

In observance of Veterans Day, all active duty and retired veterans are invited to enjoy a free breakfast with proof of service or military ID. IHOP pancakes this day will be served in red, white, and blue with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream to commemorate the special day.

Little Caesars Pizza

Little Caesars Pizza is giving back to U.S. military men and women by offering all veterans and active military a free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo, which includes four slices of DEEP!DEEP! Dish pepperoni pizza and a 20 ounce Pepsi product. Offer good at participating stores between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2019.

Manhattan Bagel

Start your Veterans Day with a free bagel and cream cheese with I.D. Find a location.

On the Border

Veterans and active duty military get a free Create Your Own Combo meal on Veterans Day. Choose from items 8 different items including Seasoned Ground Beef Tacos, Chicken Tinga with green chile or sour cream sauce enchilada, or Chicken Tortilla Soup. Olive Garden

Veterans and active military can get a free meal from a special Veterans Day menu, plus unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks, with proof of service or military ID.

Peet’s Coffee

Veterans can grab a free cup of coffee or tea — any size — at Peet’s Coffee on Veterans Day. Call your local Peet’s to confirm location participation.

Red Lobster

Stop by a Red Lobster for a free appetizer or dessert on Monday, Nov. 11, when you show valid military ID or proof of service.

Red Robbin

Score a Free Red’s Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries when you show a military ID or proof of service.

Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse will be giving away a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to active, former, or retired military. Dine-in only. Hours and details vary by specific location, so be sure to call the restaurant nearest you.
