“Trick-or-treat” doesn’t always have to mean candy.
While there are still some days left until everyone’s favorite haunted holiday Halloween, now is the time to plan your fright night feast. There are a number of restaurants giving out freebies in the days leading up to Oct. 31, so you might as well take advantage of the free (or seriously discounted) food giveaways.
Applebee’s
For an adult trick-or-trick, visit Applebee’s where they are serving up the Dollar Zombie all month long. It’s just $1 and has an eerie blue color concocted with rum, pineapple, passion fruit, and gummy brain garnish.
Baskin-robbins
Sick of candy? Switch to ice cream! Visit your local Baskin-Robbins location and score a kid-sized scoop for just $1.50 on Halloween. (That’s a savings of $2.79). All flavors are available during the promotion.
Bubba Gump Shrimp
The kid-friendly restaurant is allowing kids to eat free with purchase of an adult meal on Halloween.
Chipotle
Chipotle is bringing back the Boorito for anyone wearing a costumer. Get a burrito bowl, salad or tacos for $4 at participating stores. Order online or through the Chipotle app using the code BOORITO.
The Cheesecake Factory
Use DoorDash to order anytime Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31, and receive a free slice of Reese’s Peanut Butter chocolate Cake Cheesecake or Hershey’s Chocolate Bar Cheesecake — your choice. Just place an order pf at least $30 of food through the DoorDash website and enter code TRICKORTREAT at checkout.
IHOP
Start the spooky day off right. Kids under 12 can get a free Scary Face Pancake on Oct. 31 between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. at participating locations. Dine-in only.
Joe’s Crab Shack
Bring your kid with you on Halloween, and they’ll eat free when you purchase an adult entree.
Krispy Kreme
What’s better than a crummy candy bar? A warm, delicious doughnut. Wear a costume to any Krispy Kreme on Oct. 31 and get one for free. (Pictured)

A pizza, shaped like a pumpkin — an obvious choice for your hectic Halloween evening. The novelty pizza costs $11. Enter the code JACKOLANTERN when ordering through Papa John’s website. A pizza, shaped like a pumpkin, decorated with pepperoni and olives will come smiling to your door.
Ruby’s Diner
Kids in costume eat free all month long after 4 p.m. Just purchase an adult entree.
