In the battle of the burger chains, it’s not the golden arches Americans are longing for. For the first time ever, Five Guys, was named Burger Restaurant Brand of the Year — ousting two-time honoree In-N-Out Burger — according to The Harris Poll. The Washington D.C. based burger joint beat out In-N-Out Burger, followed by Shake Shack, Wendy’s, Culver’s, Whataburger, McDonald’s, Sonic, Smashburger, and Steak ‘n’ Shake to take the top spot. Liz McLaughlin, of Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, was the winner of the Everybody Craves Vitamix giveaway from the 2017 Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show. The random drawing was made from several thousand hopefuls who entered their name during the 10 day long show held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh last month. McLaughlin picked up her Vitamix Professional Series 5200 and gift basket full of recipe books and kitchen goodies from our offices yesterday.
