Asheville, North Carolina is best U.S. city for beer lovers, report shows

To say that craft beer is popular in America is a serious understatement. Once dominated by big time cities like San Diego, Austin, and Denver, now even tiny American towns can now point tourists and passerby to their local town brewery. Yes, Americans love beer. A recent data report compiled by ApartmentGuide.com shows that the outdoorsy southern city has the most breweries per capita of anywhere in the country. Americans spent $40 billion while drunk shopping

Your bar tab might be high, but that might not be the the highest bill you receive for your evening. A new report found that Americans picked up the credit card and spent close to $40 billion on drunk purchases last year — that’s right, BILLIONS! According to Finder.com, 26 percent of people made one or more booze-fueled buying decisions in 2018, which equals out to be a whopping 53.4 million people drunk shopping. More than half of the 2,100 individuals polled claim some of those late-night orders were purely hunger-fueled, but 10 percent admitted to buying cars, and 14 percent admitted to buying vacations. The number of people drunk shopping has actually decreased in recent years, but how much they’re spending is way up. Pizza put 2,300 people in the hospital last year

Pizza is more dangerous than you think! The cheesy dinner option is always a great choice of food for any occasion, but according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), saucy pies landed 2,300 people in the hospital last year with pizza-related-injuries. From lacerations from cutting pizza to burns and molten cheese, it seems everyone’s favorite food has a dark side. Others wound up getting treated for injuries resulting from falling in a pizza joint or even falling out of bed while reaching for a pizza — don’t act like pizza in bed isn’t a thing. The pizza stats were part of a the CPSC’s National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) injury report release associated with consumer products and emergency room visits. Stay away from Romaine Lettuce, report warns

Skip out that Caesar salad for a while. An E. coli outbreak that hit the United States late last week has been traced to romaine lettuce grown in certain regions of the country. The outbreak has affected 11 states so far, with a total of 35 cases reported, resulting in twenty-two hospitalizations. Luckily, no deaths have been reported. On April 13, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a statement advising consumers to find out the origin of their romaine before buying or eating. The lettuce causing concern was linked to Yuma, Arizona. The CDC reports that only lettuce from this region needs to be avoided or thrown away. However, just to be safe, Consumer Reports advises considers to avoid buying romaine altogether — at least until the outbreak is over. “Consumer Reports’ experts believe that it could be difficult for consumers to determine where the romaine they purchase is…
