The Most Affordable U.S. cities for grilling

If your budget says ‘bowl full of ramen’ but your tastes say ‘grilled ribeye’, consider that moving to a different zip code may mean you can indulge your carnivorous cravings more often. It turns out that grilling in certain United States cities is far less expensive than it is in others. ApartmentGuide.com recently crunched some numbers to figure out the most affordable cities to grill in, based on the average prices of popular grilling goods such as steak, sausage, and beer, along with the cost of living for a one bedroom apartment. Americans are salty with their snacking habits

America has become a country of snackers. Between working long hours and eating on the run, it’s no wonder Americans spend more on snack foods than they do on actual meals. According to new Nielsen data, snacking is popular in every corner of the country, but gender, generation, income and geography can shape some of your preferences. Salty snacks still reign supreme, with chips, popcorn and meat snacks generating more than $27 billion for retailers. Candy comes in a close second with $20 billion in sales, followed by cheese snacks generating more than $17 billion in sales. Cookies sales top $7 billion. Crackers ($6.65 billion), ice cream ($6.63 billion) and nuts ($6.17 billion) also rank among America’s favorites. In a recent Harris Poll EquiTrend study, released by Nielsen, U.S. consumers identified the snacks they use to commonly curb cravings out of 275 common snacking brands. While candy and chocolate ranked high regardless of region, some snacks did better in…

A restaurant totally devoted to Nutella is opening next week

All of your chocolatey dreams have come true. The world’s first Nutella cafe is opening in Chicago on May 31. Although other eateries may offer menus focusing on the rich, hazelnut spread, the Nutella Cafe is the first restaurant owned by Ferrero USA, so the entire restaurant experience is designed around the beloved brand. From the creamy color of the walls, to the hazelnut-shaped hanging lights, everything is inspired by Nutella. “It’s designed to make you feel like you’re actually walking into a jar of Nutella,” said Angela Baird, the director of operations at BIG Retail, who gave design consultation to Ferrero USA, told The Chicago Tribune. “Everything screams Nutella.” There are, of course, no shortage of Nutella menu items. Satisfy any craving with a Nutella filled croissant, waffles served with warm apples Nutella drizzle and toasted hazelnuts, or steel-cut oats topped with mixed berries, almond milk and, what else, Nutella.…
