Doughnuts are great. And so are chicken nuggets. So how about combining them?

An entrepreneur in Australia has invented the “donug,” which is basically a large chicken nugget in the shape of a doughnut.

Crag Carrick and his wife Rachel Dutton, a chef, recently appeared on Australia’s version of “Shark Tank” and received a $100,000 investment to bring the product to the mainstream Down Under.

The donug is made from free-range chicken and coated in a crunchy panko and cornflake crust with spices. Three dipping options are available: a cheesy dijon white sauce, a Japanese curry sauce or a hot chili sauce.

“I’m not changing the world with this product,” Carrick told the panel. “I’m giving something that’s fun, it’s easy to understand, people get it straight away.”

Apparently, Burger King was so ahead of its time with its Chicken Fries Rings released back in 2016 that everybody has forgotten about them. (Or maybe they were never released outside of the U.S.)

With those off the menu, their most recent innovation has been the Pretzel Chicken Fries. Maybe those will pop up in Australia in a few years.
