Sugar explosion

Sure, the tasty treat on the left looks delicious, but if you’re looking to lose weight, consider how much food you actually get with the choice on the right. You could snack for hours on all of those.

Sugar vs. sugar ? I know I’m team right side most of the time but left is fine if you want to TREAT yourself ? . This is just a friendly reminder why going for the right side (strawberries) on a daily basis will do your body some good! Because nobody is eating 12 cups of strawberries in one sitting but it’s very easy to drink a whole strawberry milkshake . The left side has literally 0g of fiber. While the right side has a whooping 34.8g fiber ? That part of the reason it’s so hard to eat that many! . Displayed: 1 medium strawberry shake vs. 12 cups whole strawberries . P.S. I’m now the proud owner of a crap ton of strawberries. P.P.S. That shake has been sitting in my freezer for months from other IG posts lol team recycle. . . . . . #cleaneating #healthychoices #healthyeating #healthyfood #weightloss #cleaneats #fitfood #instahealth #nutrition #mealprepmonday #glutenfree #getfit #paleo #healthyliving #determination #healthylifestyle #active #mealpreprecipes #exercise #fitnessaddict #cardio #mealprepsunday #strawberry #strong #train #cleanfood #fruit #protein #weightlossjourney #organic

Eat more, weigh less

You could eat the plate on the left, but you would have already eaten half of your daily calories in one sitting. Choose the plate on the left and eat the rainbow for less than half that of the meat plate.

Eat more, weigh less! ? . I’ve seen a few pictures going around on Instagram where it’s like a penis shaped hot dog, bread & mashed potatoes as a representation of what an omnivore meal looks like ? It makes me laugh so hard. . Now the right side of this post is a great representation of how filling your plate with mostly veggies & some high quality protein can really pay off! ❤️ I’m not sure what omnivore eats like the left side but you can see that the calories add up quick for smaller portions. More info below: . Omnivore Carb Bomb Meal: 2 eggs 2 tbsp butter 1 bread roll 4 pieces bacon Half a snickers bar . Omnivore Salad: 4 cups spinach 1 cup cherry tomatoes 2 beets 1/2 yellow bell pepper 1/2 orange bell pepper 2 free-range eggs 3oz kimchi 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar (not shown) . . . . . . #paleo #glutenfree #cleaneating #paleodiet #healthyeating #whole30 #primal #healthyfood #cleaneats #fitfood #nutrition #mealprepmonday #lowcarb #lchf #healthychoices #jerf #paleolifestyle #organic #bbg #mealprepsunday #dairyfree #keto #grainfree #weightloss #realfood #instahealth #getfit #paleofood #sugarfree #healthyliving

Simple substitutions

Eating smart isn’t always about giving up your favorite foods — just educating yourself about healthy alternatives. Save 235 calories and countless carbs when you swap out those flat tortillas with crunchy lettuce.

Healthy swaps add up! . Love this post by @collegenutritionist. Info below: . Craving lettuce wraps this week! ?? You can save a lot of cals by switching to lettuce wraps (even, often, if you bulk up on the insides & toppings! ?) . Now, of course, calories aren’t the only important piece of nutrition information- watching calories depends on your personal needs & goals! However, by making this switch you can ALSO cut back on refined starches from the white flour, which I do recommend! Vary your choices through the week to get a range of health benefits ?? • • . #weightlosshelp #weightlosscommunity#classof2018 #rd2be #dietitian#shreddingforthewedding #foodblogging#tiubride #mindbodygram #foods4thought#iamwellandgood #thechalkboardeats#lowcarbdiet #lowcarblife #lowcarbs#studybreak #bbgfood #CHAARG#thenewhealthy #tiumeals #lunchideas#worklunch #organized #organizing#studybreak #tiuapproved #bbgbride#sheddingforthewedding #healthyswaps

Attention to details

Healthy foods don’t always mean healthy decisions. Can you spot the difference below? Two eggs, an extra half avocado and two tablespoons of peanut butter take this breakfast’s calorie count from responsible to reprehensible!

Spot the difference ? Kind of crazy how small changes can really add up! ? Whether you want to add more calories or eat less, here is an example & some of my tips: . Lower cal meal: 2 eggs + 2 egg whites scrambled 1 piece Ezekiel toast 1/2 an avocado 1 honey crisp apple . Higher cal meal: 4 eggs + 2 egg whites scrambled 1 piece Ezekiel toast 1 whole avocado 1 honey crisp apple 2 tbsp peanut butter . Tips to save calories: Swap out some eggs for egg whites (egg whites are only 17 calories per one) Don’t pack on too much fat (1/2 or 1/4 an avocado is plenty for this meal!) Even though there’s no coffee displayed, watch out for the extra oils or creamer which can add calories too. . Prepare at home when possible

Even this “healthy option” at McDonald’s will still set you back some 300 extra calories. The homemade breakfast looks way more delicious and definitely won’t take much time to make.

Think getting the "healthier" choice at the fast food places is better for you? Think again. Pictured above is an Egg White Delight McMuffin, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and an Iced Coffee vs. homemade steel cut oats with strawberries & cinnamon, ezikiel toast with 2 scrambled egg with black pepper and a cold brew. Even if you threw in 2 slices of homemade bacon too, that would only add another 60 calories and 0g of sugar ? More info below: ▶️ Carrageenan (an additive) – can be destructive to the digestive system, triggering an immune response similar to when your body is invaded by pathogens like Salmonella. Studies with lab animals have show different issues like carrageenan leading to intestinal lesions & colon cancer. ▶️ Ezekiel toast vs. English Muffin – if you're going for bread, Ezekiel toast is a most more natural option. Ezekiel bread is much less processed and made from sprouted ingredients which makes it easier to digest & less inflammatory. Whereas an English muffin will have much more preservatives. Check out the ingredients of Ezekiel bread: Organic Sprouted Wheat, Filtered Water, Organic Sprouted Barley, Organic Sprouted Millet, Organic Malted Barley, Organic Sprouted Lentils, Organic Sprouted Soybeans, Organic Sprouted Spelt, Fresh Yeast, Organic Wheat Gluten VS the English muffin: Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Water, Yeast, Yellow Corn Meal (Degermed Yellow Corn Meal and Corn Flour), Contains 2% or Less: Sugar, Soybean Oil, Salt, Dough Conditioners (Mono-, Di- and Tricalcium Phosphate, DATEM, Ascorbic Acid, Enzymes, Ethylated Mono and Digylcerides), Wheat Gluten, Calcium Propionate (Preservative), Citric Acid, Calcium Citrate, Baking Soda, Fumaric Acid.
